Description
Terbutaline sulphate
Drug class: Beta agonist
- Short-acting β2-selective agents like terbutaline are key drugs for the fast relief of bronchoconstriction.
- These β2 adrenergic agonists produce bronchial smooth muscle relaxation.
- Effective for the prevention and reversal of bronchospasm in patients with asthma and reversible bronchospasm associated with bronchitis and emphysema.
Bromhexine
Drug class: Mucolytic agent
- Bromhexine is a benzylamine derived cardiac depressant of vasicine, is a quinazoline alkaloid obtained from the plant Adhatoda vasica.
- Used as a mucolytic agent, acts on the mucus at the formative stages in the glands, effective for most people with thick sputum, excessive or viscid mucus.
- Helps in the production of thinner and less viscous phlegm which produces a secretomotoric effect by helping the cilia in expectoring the phlegm out of the lungs.
Guaiphenesin
Drug class: Expectorants
- With a favorable safety & tolerability profile manages hypersecretory respiratory conditions.
- Effective in loosening phlegm and increasing the lubrication of lungs allowing for a productive cough and decreased chest congestion.
Menthol
Drug class: Counterirritant

- Shown to result in a cooling sensation in the airway without causing irritation.
- Can also reduce the sensation of dyspnea.
