NEXEF-SB Injection

COMPOSITION:

1. NEXEF-SB 375 Inj.: Ceftriaxone-250mg + Sulbactam 125mg
2. NEXEF-SB 750 Inj.: Ceftriaxone 500mg + Sulbactam 250mg
3. NEXEF-SB Inj.: Ceftriaxone-1000mg + Sulbactam 500mg
4. NEXEF-TBZ Inj.: Sterile Ceftriaxone Sodium U.S.P1000mg +Sterile Tazobactam Sodium 125mg

Ceftriaxone

• Ceftriaxone is a new semisynthetic cephalosporin with broad-spectrum in vitro activity and an unusually long serum half-life.
• It is a safe and effective antibiotic for therapy of serious bacterial infections.
• Offers tissue concentration much higher than MIC for many virulent pathogens.¹

Tazobactam

• Helps ceftriaxone in regaining sensitivity against resistant strains
• Payne et al. reported that tazobactam has greater β lactamases inhibitory activity than sulbactam.² 

Combination

• The combination of ceftriaxone and tazobactam in the ratio of 8:1 can be an effective treatment to combat extended spectrum beta-lactamase producing E. coli infections.
