Description
COMPOSITION: Amoxycillin 500 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg + Lactic Acid Bacillus
Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid is a tried and proven first-line antibacterial agent.
Lactic acid bacillus are gram-positive; aerobic and facultatively anaerobic; have terminal spores, and produce lactic acid from fermentable sugars.
Amoxycillin (penicillin-like antibiotics) + Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitors)
- Clavulanic acid enhances the antibacterial spectrum of amoxicillin by rendering most beta-lactamase-producing isolates susceptible to the drug.
- After oral administration, clavulanic acid is rapidly absorbed; amoxicillin appears to increase its absorption and its absorption is not affected by food.
- Amoxicillin-clavulanic acid is effective in treating both acute uncomplicated and complicated urinary tract infections and exacerbations of chronic bronchitis caused by amoxicillin-resistant organisms in adults.
Lactic Acid Bacillus (Probiotics)
- According to their activity in various environmental conditions could precede the clinical efficacy studies for adjunct treatment with probiotics in the cure of different gastrointestinal and urinary tract infections.
- Lactic acid bacteria-probiotics were described as potent organisms to treat viral infections (Al kassaa et al., 2014; Arena et al., 2018a,b).
- LAB strains have obtained probiotic status, which entails the ability to improve the human immune response against dangerous viral and fungal enemies.
COMBINATION
- Amoxicillin-clavulanic acid is one of the most widely used antibiotics and one of the most frequent causes of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and other gastrointestinal disorders.
- Probiotics help to maintain the balance of the intestinal microbiota and they have been used for many years for the treatment and prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhea.
